Déclaration commune des membres du Processus d’Aqaba sur la situation humanitaire à Gaza | DÉCLARATION
As humanitarian actors, neutrality and impartiality are defining principles of our work. Our guiding objective is to alleviate human suffering.
As humanitarian actors, neutrality and impartiality are defining principles of our work. Our guiding objective is to alleviate human suffering.
Humanitarian aid consignments that are delivered through the Jordan Corridor undergo a single inspection point in Jordan, and a single transloading point in Gaza (compared to 3 inspection and 4 transloading points on the back to back route).
Our focused delivery allows partners to concentrate on their core competencies while ensuring transparency, anti-corruption measures, and fair competition in procurement processes.
And we provide operational support to the UN Mine Action Service, enhancing the security of high-risk UN missions across Gaza, conducting Explosive Threat Assessments of UN premises and critical facilities and raising awareness of the risks posed by explosive ordnance to the civilian population and aid workers.
A moment of relief. Of hope and optimism. In the face of the absolute humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, it is imperative that the ceasefire provides the conditions to ensure rapid and unhindered and safe humanitarian access to provide relief for all.
We work on the procurement, delivery, monitoring and lately distribution of fuel. We manage the operation of the UN2720 Mechanism, which aims to increase and speed up the delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to Gaza.
This programme brings together humanitarian, development, environmental and peace and security strands in a nexus approach. It is pivotal in post-conflict recovery, restoring essential services for over half a million people, and creating resilience for those most vulnerable.
It is recognised by the key stakeholders and broader international community. It is mandated by the Security Council. Since the beginning of its implementation almost 1 year ago, this mechanism has reduced bureaucracy and fragmentation and improved efficiency, transparency and predictability.
Leur courage, leur compassion et leur dévouement inlassable face à l'adversité incarnent le meilleur de l'humanité. Leur travail est extrêmement important, maintenant plus que jamais.
As the focus of my briefing today is on Gaza, allow me to share some of my observations with you. I will be very happy to take questions afterwards. **** The humanitarian catastrophe that Gazans face continues.
