The threats from climate change are having devastating real-world impacts now. We must enable governments to make better-informed investment decisions when it comes to designing and building infrastructure that can withstand climate change-driven threats.
UNOPS pledges in the strategy include: Reducing corporate emissions by 45 per cent by 2030, and achieving net-zero before 2050 Reducing energy use across our operations and offering more energy-efficient solutions in the projects we implement Integrating sustainable procurement and circular economy principles Tackling emissions in our supply chains, including Scope 3 value chain emissions Integrating climate risk screening in all UNOPS infrastructure projects Promoting nature-based infrastructure Increasing the climate resilience of our operations and personnel across around 200 offices globally Strong collaboration with our partners is a cornerstone of these efforts.

That means increasing financial access and the capacity of governments to absorb funds, and tailoring support to unstable circumstances.
It means effective adaptation measures to the risk associated with disaster displacement, which can help people to stay in their location of origin and build their resilience, but also support safe, regular and orderly migration or planned relocation as a way of adapting to the adverse effects of climate change.
