One-third of the space will be dedicated to intensive care units. UNOPS is committed to supporting governments and partners with meeting their health infrastructure needs during the COVID-19 response. This includes rehabilitating medical and health facilities and establishing water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
Working together, UNOPS is procuring new specialized equipment and providing training to healthcare specialists in more than 200 health facilities – laying the foundation for the national public health system to be better equipped with improved infrastructure, technology and laboratory services for years to come.
UNOPS is currently providing $170 million worth of health-related project support to its partners around the world, helping communities gain greater access to the health facilities, services and supplies they need to lead healthy and dignified lives.

Close UNOPS: 30 years of action For 30 years, UNOPS has been a driving force in delivering practical solutions to the world's most pressing challenges – making projects happen and responding where needs are greatest.
UNOPS is committed to tackling the climate crisis on multiple fronts and has a key role to play in helping people, communities and governments to prevent climate change and reduce our negative impact through our projects and engagements. The Paris Agreement aims to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
With an additional $3 million in funding in June 2020, UNOPS is scaling up activities to include capacity building of medical personnel for surveillance, tracing and investigating COVID-19 cases and will rehabilitate isolation wards at mission hospitals.
As part of the project, UNOPS is helping increase access to water and sanitation services in urban, peri-urban and rural areas of the country.
How does the partnership between UNOPS and ICAT help deliver for communities around the world? Through UNOPS we are able to directly engage with countries. We are able to conclude project agreements with ministries so that they can implement the work on the ground, close to where the action is required.
